The rules for using TalkSignal, in plain words.
Who we are
TalkSignal is operated by Pradeep Dadi, an individual developer in India (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using TalkSignal, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Questions go to support@talksignal.org.
Who can use TalkSignal
You must be 18 or older and able to agree to these terms. You sign in with a phone number you control, and you are responsible for your account and the phone it is used on. Tell us at support@talksignal.org if you think someone else is using your account.
What TalkSignal does
TalkSignal lets you ask a contact whether now is a good time to talk, and lets them answer. It never starts a call on its own: a “Yes, call me” answer means your contact is happy to talk, not that a call will happen. You decide whether and how to call.
Not for emergencies
TalkSignal is not an emergency service. Marking a request as an emergency only makes it stand out; it does not reach anyone faster and there is no guarantee it is seen. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Using TalkSignal responsibly
Do not use TalkSignal to harass, threaten or pressure anyone; send requests over and over to someone who has not answered; misuse emergency requests; send voice messages that are abusive, sexual, hateful or unlawful; pretend to be someone else; try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours; interfere with the service or overload it; or do anything unlawful. Respect every answer, block and privacy choice.
Your content
You own what you send, such as your name, photo, request messages and voice messages. You allow us to store it, process it and deliver it to the people you send it to, only as needed to run TalkSignal. Only send content you have the right to share.
Reports and our actions
If someone reports a voice message you sent, we may listen to the reported copy and take action. That can mean warning you, blocking you for the person who reported it, or disabling your account. We record what we did and why, as described in the privacy policy. We can undo a block or a disabled account, for example after you write to us. If you think we made a mistake, write to support@talksignal.org.
Early access
TalkSignal is in early access. Features may change, the service may be interrupted or unavailable at times, and we may stop offering parts of it. We will try to give notice of significant changes on this site.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account); see Delete your account. We may suspend or disable an account that breaks these terms.
No warranty, and limits on liability
TalkSignal is provided as it is, without any promise that it will always work, be available, or deliver every request or notification on time. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for missed calls, missed requests or anything that follows from them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page, and announce significant changes on this site before they take effect.
